#enditmovement

Have y'all heard of the Passion Conferences?  In a nutshell, its a conference for 18-25 year olds that meets yearly.  The conference has traveled all over the world spreading the love of Jesus, and raising money for different movements/organizations all over.  It's one of those life changing experiences that you will never really be able to describe.

Today was the last day of the conference, and although I wasn't able to afford to go/take the time off work to attend, they streamed a lot of the sessions live, and I was able to watch during work catch up at home!

On of the main focuses this week was to END SLAVERY.  You may have just read that and though, "What!? Slavery is gone."

But, let me tell you--it's not.  Did you know there are 27 million people around the world who are enslaved?!

27 MILLION PEOPLE

Sex trafficking and labor trade

Do you know where the two main "hubs" are for slavery in the United States??

Atlanta, GA
Houston, TX

Slavery, in general, is absolutely ridiculous  but the fact that it's happening in my own back yard and I didn't really know about it!?  Just plain stupid.  I want that to stop.  I want to raise awareness.

Passion 2013 raised almost $3 million to go towards helping free these slaves, and I realllly encourage you to give towards the cause, as well.  You can do that here.

What else can you do!?  Join the movement to END IT! They have just launched the End It Movement and are asking people to go to the website and Pledge (just sign up) that you are IN IT TO END IT.

I'm so thankful for this blog, that gives me the space to share and do good.  I pray that each and every one of you will pray about giving, and sharing this with your readers.  Together, we can do something good!

  4. Thank you for this! I am an advocate for the A21campaign and they are such a great resource about learning how much slavery is still running crazy in this world.
